A YOUNG GYMNASIA PUPIL SCALED CHESS OLYMPUS. *

A chess and checkers tournament, held according to the syllabus of ХІХ Regional comprehensive educational activities among school pupils, took place in the town of Kamianka, Cherkasy Region, on March 17. 23 teams, representing towns and districts of Cherkasy region, took part in the tournament (about 90 participants).

Among the contestants was Tkachenko Oleksiy, a Form 5A pupil from our Gymnasia. Participants from Cherkasy won in the team event. Oleksiy was second in the individual event
