APTIS RESEARCH AT THE GYMNASIA*
Metametrics and the British Council (London) carry out a global study of reading ability in English (known as Aptis Resarch). For this purpose a short test is conducted for young people aged 16 in the on-line mode. General requirements: there must be at least 30 participants; the testing time is 70 minutes. It's nice that the testing is free.
5. On March 5, 2015 41 pupils from Cherkasy First city gymnasia, participated in “English Study Reading 2015” at the invitation of the British Council (London) and with the support of S. Beltyukova, Ph.D., Professor of the University of Toledo (Ohio, USA), who acted as the guarantor of the gymnasia pupils’ high training quality. The test tasks were varied: multiple choice, making a story by combining separate sentences, the selection of titles to texts, and so on. All the 10th and 11th formers who took the test, concluded that the test was interesting, but its vocabulary was a bit complicated. That is why, let us begin to study harder. And we, the teachers, are looking forward to the results.
