A GIRL FROM LVIV HAS BECOME A WORLD CHAMPION, AND OUR GYMNASIA PUPIL - A REGIONAL CHAMPION.*

These days Ukraine is rejoicing at the success of Muzychuk Maria from Lviv, who has become a chess champion of the world. And it was in the days of the triumph of Maria that a Reginal Chess Championship for youth under 14 years was held in Cherkasy. It was organized by the Department of Family, Youth and Sports Affairs of  Cherkasy Oblast State Administration and the Regional Chess Federation.

Our gymnasia 8^th former OLEKSIY TKACHENKO won the championship and was the first at the tournament.

We congratulate Oleksiy on the championship! We wish him to rise to the heights of the current world champion Norwegian Magnus Carlsen, who is a model for Oleksiy in this  intellectual kind of sport.
