THE NEW POLICE GAVE A TALK TO THE STUDENTS AND EVERYBODY WAS VERY PLEASED.*
On April 21, representatives of the Cherkassy police came to the lesson to our 9th-10th formers to give them a talk about the rules of the road regulations for cyclists. In addition, the law enforcement officers told the children about their work, their internal beliefs and how to act in extreme situations: if lost, robbed or saw offences.
The pupils put the policemen a lot of questions, most of them were interested in how modern policemen worked, what they were armed and equipped with, how fast they reacted to the messages about committing offences.
Such meetings are very useful as the children understand better the work of the police and perceive them as protectors and helpers, not as harsh "punishers". Besides, the information, received during the meeting, will allow them to anticipate unpleasant situations and to avoid law violation.
