The Most Significant Events In Gymnasia Life In 2018

Traditionally, on the last day of the year the edotorial board of the site and our school's admins make the summative analysis of the work done, defining the crucial happenings of the passing year. The year 2018 is not an exception and can boast of the following achievements:

JANUARY

Volodymyr Khandogiy, a famous career diplomat, the gymnasia alumnus and gold medalist, presented us with his book "Diplomatic scripts - the true stories of a career doplomat".

FABRUARY

On February 12-13, we celebrated the Chinese New Year for the first time with the volunteer from China Chang Peng.

MARCH

On march 15-17 2018, in Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth, at the XIV International Exhibition "Modern Educational Establishments" the gymnasia was awarded with the gold medal

Between March 22 to 26th, a group of interact members participated in the II International Interact Conference that took place in Karpach, Poland.

APRIL

Seven gymnasia students became the finalists of the IV stage of the Pan-Ukrainian subject olimpiads and the Small Academy of Sciences defences. The city and regional records have been set.

At the ХХІV Regional Sports Day Contest, the team of the gymnasia students won basketball championship.

On April 13, the Cherkasy Museum of Arts welcomed the Charity Ball under the patronage of Gymnasia Queen Daria Yaremchuk.

MAY

At May 15 regular meeting of the Cherkasy City Council Executive Committee, the officials defined the geographical areas of the city to be served by the eduactional institutions.

On May 18th, the gymnasia was visited by V. D. Khandogiy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, our ex-alumnus.

As inintiated by the Embassy of China to Ukraine, on May 15th, we were honoured by the visit of three ambassadors of this country.

JUNE

The beginning of summer marked the start of camp work in the gymnasia: GO CAMP-FCG and newly established camp called DECART welcomed their participants.

On June 23rd, the 11-graders of our gymnasia had their prom night in «Druzhba Narodiv» festival hall.

The English teacher V. I. Yularzhi was acknowledged as the most learning teacher of the year.

JULY

Gymnasia TV became the winner of the ХХІ International School Media Contest in Mykolaiv.

Primary school lobbies were redesigned according to the requirements of the regulations of the New Ukrainian School.

AUGUST

The rating of the best schools of Ukraine according to the results of 2018 external evaluation was made public. We are in the second hundered among 9000 schools.

The visit of the gymnasia ex-alumnus and now NBA "Los Angeles Lakers" player Sviatoslav Mykhailyuk became a pleasant surprise for all students who are the fans of basketball as well as his teachers.

Sonia Scherr, a US Peace Corps volunteer, arrived to teach in the gymnasia.

SEPTEMBER

The building of the outdoor football pitch with the artificial coating, an outdoor gym with 11 machines, as well as the redesigning of the green house into the LEGO-classroom began.

OCTOBER

Starting from October 9th, a volunteer from China Jao Nang started working in the gymnasia.

Two volunteers, Ulrika Hertel from Germany and Urscula Adamska from Poland joined our teacher staff team.

Gymnasia got the right to invite and offer temporary employment to foreign volunteers. We have also been added to the special list of organizations eligible to do that.

On October 26, for the first time in history, the school students took part in the Supreme Council election immitation game called "My dream party" as a part of the international project "M18: We can do more".

As a part of COMPOLA Project, we received a composter for disposing of cafeteria food wastes correctly.

Oshkola Project (electronic daybook) was initiated.

DECEMBER

Interact Club celebrated its 15th anniversary.

Gymnasia conducted the first meeting of the City Club of Future School Principals.

A report on the participation of gymnasia in the regional target project INNOVATIVE SCHOOLS OF THE CHERKASY REGION has been made.

On December 23rd, the first charity concert "One Step to Hope" was conducted in "Lyubava" shopping and leisure center.

And finally, the 79th issue of GYMNASIST magazine and its first ONLINE version have been created.
