SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP: THE AGREEMENT FOR THE COOPERATION WITH THE JAPANESE SCHOOL HAS BEEN SIGNED

24.07.2019

The Kamikawa English School principal from the city of Kogušima, Sakio Kamikawa, visited the gymnasia on July 24. The goal of his arrival in Cherkassy was signing the cooperation agreement with our school. The agreement of this kind was the twentieth such cooperation treaty for this Japanese school and the fifteenth for our gymnasia.

The potential for the relationship with the Japanese school emerged by mere chance, all due to the attendance of this distant country's representative of one of the Rotary club meetings where the member from the Cherkassy club invited the principal of Kamikawa English School to our city. He, having studied the educational map of Cherkasy, chose to seek establishing a friendly relationship with our gymnasium as the specialization of the Kamikawa school is also the profound learning of English.

The guest came to our school for three hours, during which the principal of the gymnasia gave a tour around the institution for the Japanese colleague, he met with high school students and Interact members who impressed him with English and manners, got acquainted with Deputy Mayor Igor Voloshin, and saw the glimpses of our city during a short excursion. Mr Kamikawa also gave an interview to the Cherkasy public TV channel and the NOVA DOBA newspaper.

The signing of the agreement took place in the presence of high school students, teachers, and the press. Mr Kamikawa did not come unprepared. He presented everyone with the gifts and held a small master class on how to evoke curiosity in strangers and raise their mood.

The principals of both institutions also exchanged valuable gifts.
