12 pupils will live in the Israeli families for nearly a week, go to school in Haifa, work on joint projects and will visit historic sites of the country.
Let us remember you that this project is a Rotary youth project. Last September, 12 Israelites spent a week in Cherkassy as part of RYLA.

About 200 people gathered in the Cathedral Square yesterday to take part in setting the national flag and the flag of the European Union on the flagpole at the House of Oblast Council.
Among them there were scores of our Gymnasia pupils, who brought the symbols of the EU and Ukraine with them.
The reason for this was that Ukraine and the EU had signed the political part of the Association Agreement.
The youth, dressed in national costumes, were charged to set the flags.
During the celebration the young people were also given an opportunity to be the first to speak.
Our Gymnasia pupils were interviewed by the TV Channel "Ros'".

After changing 3 planes and spending around 30 hours flying, the Group has finally been met by the host families in the airport. Kind, smiling, hospitable faces of American friends have added power and energy to the children and they drove to their host families. The first night was calm and full of sweet dreams about home and the upcoming event that is called "Miami".
We all woke up early in the morning, took a quick morning shower, had breakfast and went to school. Every member of the group gets to school by himself. Kids live in pairs, so it is a great event for them to get to school early in the morning just as any casual american does.
We've already made a Great Bus Tour around Miami! That was fantastic!!! The combination of skyscrapers with the quiet park area of neighbourhoods and wonderful views of the ocean makes the staying here just magic!
Everybody sends best regards to all the teachers and gymnasists.

On March 4, the gymnasia hosted an unusual exhibition "Mouthwatering stones." It was organized by Nikolashyn Oleksandr, a resident of Smila, who has been collecting these unusual exhibits for the last few years. These stones are like food in form and colour. The amateur's collection consists of about 40 species. Among them there are delicious kebabs, pies, fat, pastries, candies, bread, etc. The major part of the collection has been found in Ukraine, particularly in Cherkasy Oblast.
With great attention did the students examine the skull fragments found near the village Buzukov, mammoth and shark teeth, a variety of shellfish.

On February 28, the last day of winter, there was a competition among 6th formers for the title of the best experts in the history of ancient Greece.
The meeting was held in the form of a brain-ring. The intrigue did not leave until the last participant.
The Gymnasia pupils, working in teams, wanted to show off their best.
Supporters warmly rooted for their teams, actively responding to the questions.
The team "Sparta" (Form 6 B) looked pretty convincing, but during the reckless competition the team "Athens" (Form 6 A) won, what we congratulate them with.
The brain-ring was organized and held by the teacher-trainees from Cherkasy National University.
The FCG contest "Queen of Gymnasia" is approaching. On February 27, it was finally decided that there would be 5 participating members of the popular Gymnasia contest. Intriguing is the fact that there are two twin sisters among the participants.

On February 1, school leavers of the previous years kept an appointment with their dear Gymnasia.
Traditional meetings with school leavers are conducted by all schools in Ukraine, and our Gymnasia is no exception.
Warm memories, meetings with teachers and former classmates, a small concert program, words of thanks to their teachers from the school leavers of 2004 and 1994, the FCG principal's speech – all that instantaneity was present at the appointment of the school leavers with the First City Gymnasia.
After the formal efforts one could hear memories of school days, that had become the history of each of the school leavers, in many classrooms and halls of the Gymnasia.
