Last week, the school was handed in a power passport. The document is outwardly similar to the stickers on energy-saving household appliances, where the classes of energy consumption from very expensive rate G to the best and most economical A are indicated. In consuming heat we have a high B rate, electricity - C, but in consuming water - F.
But this can be explained by spending plenty of water during the flushing the heating system in August 2010.

Our gymnasium has reported once more about its participation in the action "Give the tree a ring!". Toactively gather recycled materials, primarily waste-paper, is the main idea of taking part in the action. Thus, we will preserve the environment from deforestation. Last week the Gymnasia students gathered and passed 2500 kg. of waste paper to be recycled.
A Group of seven gymnasia students is leaving today for Belgium. The small city of Arlon and the educational institution of INDA will have welcomed our gymnasia students by the evening already. Our students will improve their French and learn Belgian culture for 21 days. The visit is being conducted under the agreement signed 10 years ago, so this visit is an anniversary. The Program Coordinator on the part of the FCG is Mokrushyna T.G., a teacher of French, and on the Belgian's is Marie - France Barbie. Happy visit, gymnasia students! We expect the first pieces of news and photographs in a week.
Vyacheslav Lininh was invited to the reception to Mykola Azarov, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, as a Coordinator of the International Youth League of Nations on September 15. The Gymnasia pupil handed Mykola Azarov the League's appeal to the peoples of the world and answered questions of the interested Prime Minister for almost 10 minutes.
All the invited (10 people) got nominal gift watches in memory of the reception .
Taking the opportunity Vyacheslav presented the Prime Minister with the book "Research and experimental activities of polylingual Gymnasia" edited by N.V. Ananieva and handed an invitation to the gymnasia's anniversary.
The 17th International Festival of children's television and media "SLAVUTYCH GOLDEN AUTUMN - 2010" will be held in the town of Slavutych, Kyiv Oblast, on September 17-19.
The young correspondents of "UNIKALNIY GYMNAZYST" - Levchenko Oleksandr and Ozeran Mariya, its acting editor, will take part in the work of the festival. Vasitska S.K., a Ukrainian Language teacher, will accompany them in Slavutych.

Yesterday the pedagogical council decided at its meeting that the celebration of the 130th anniversary of the gymnasia would be held in People's Friendship Palace on November 26, 2010.

A separate committee of senior graders, preparing the gymnasia's part of the celebration, will be established.
The Gymnsia has received the information that it was chosen to hold the next Future Leaders Exchange Program (FLEX) entrance testing of students living in Cherkasy oblast which will be held at 10 a.m. on September 11-12. Cherkasy oblast school students born from January 1, 1994 through July 15, 1996 are invited to take part in the program.
A.V. Stepanenko, the former Form 11A class instructor, has collected the information about his former graduates' enrolment at higher educational institutions. All his 26 graduates will continue studying at higher educational institutions. 17 people will study free of charge, six ones will study by contract, and 3 others will study abroad.
Starovoitova Valeria, a medal winner, will study at KIFA of T. Shevchenko NU in Kyiv. Ledney Yuriy will study at Law Academy in Kharkiv, Chernetska Svitlana, Zheludov Anton, Iliushyna Tatiana and others at Kyiv National University.
Nadia Kravchenko and Mykyta Kuzmenko will study at two universities. Khmelkovskiy Illya, Alina Moroz and Zavertailo Bogdana will study at universities abroad.
It has become a matter of knowledge that Dmytro Tabachnyk, the new Minister of Education and Science, signed order № 406 of May 13, 2010 on the recognition of our school as an EXPERIMENTAL INSTITUTION of All-Ukrainian level.
From now on, big science will settle in our gymnasia for a long time.
Soon a new section of the site, will be created. It will be completely devoted to scientific work and this project.
It has just become known that Viktor Yanukovych, the President of Ukraine, signed a decree on awarding REBENKO NATALIA VASYLIVNA, a teacher of English, the title of Honored Teacher of UKRAINE.
We congratulatie Natalia Vasylivna on this great achievement! Viktor Yanukovych, the President of Ukraine, will confer the decoration to Natalia Vasylivna, on Chernechey Hill in Kaniv on August 23.
President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych signed a decree appointing Volodymyr Khandogiy Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Let's recall that Volodymyr Khandogiy is our gymnasia graduate.
Final preparations of the three finalists of the prestigious international program FLEX for the departure to study in the U.S.A. are coming to an end. Soon the girls will go to new temporary homes and will only be able to communicate virtually with their classmates for a year.
Two other tenth form students are also preparing for one-year training according to an annual Rotary program. Their program is somewhat similar to FLEX, however, it has significant differences. This time the girls are lucky, they will be able to travel freely in the U.S. A. and Canada.
The next school year will bring new international opportunities for gymnasia students.
A German-Ukrainian project of European integration of Ukraine is announced for teachers of Cherkasy region. The seminar will be held in the town of Bad Urach that is in Baden-Wurttemberg (Southern Germany) in November 2010. The 9-day seminar will include numerous workshops, trainings, visits to Stra?burg, Stuttgart, Tubingen. The project participants will be able to get to the place by coach for their own money.
Schools' Euroclubs leaders, History teachers, leaders of children's organizations are invited to participate in the project.

A small group of children and teachers from sister city of Santa Rosa, the U.S.A. came to Cherkasy on June 23 and will stay here till July 6. The guests have already visited our school, met with the Interact members and the administration.
The Americans visited Kyiv, Chyhyryn, Uman. They are going to spend 5 days at the Black Sea in the Crimea. The guests from abroad, staying with host families, go every day to local museums, parks, etc. They consider terrible road conditions the biggest drawback of life in Ukraine. A farewell party will be arranged for the guests on July 5, after which they will move to another country.
We'd like to remind you that the Americans are on the international exchange program in Ukraine.
In the latest edition of "Evening Cherkasy" of June 23, its correspondent Tatyana Martynova (tel. 050-4475211) made a rating of Cherkasy schools (with the assistance of Cherkasy City Council Department of Education). A small group of students from Cherkasy started a visit to Santa Rosa, its sister city located in the northern part of California. The group consists of students from the FCG, gymnasia number 31 and secondary school number 17. The group of Cherkasy seniors will get acquainted with lovely California for almost three weeks. The group members will share their impressions of the trip after returning home.
Hvorostantseva N.V., a teacher of English, is a group member who visited Santa Rosa as a student in the 90s. Now she is the head of the group. All participants will stay with host families. They will visit San Francisco, Sacramento, Santa Cruz and other cities of the state.
Volodymyr and Tamara Denysenko, who live in the U.S. city of Rochester, New York, will visit the gymnasia on June 1. They often come to Poltava, where they are running several joint projects. The guests are ethnic Ukrainians; however, they live all their life in the U.S. This time, they decided to visit our city and our gymnasia. It is planned that the Denisenkos will make a brief examination of the gymnasia, have a meeting with some students, the Interact president and vice-president (the Denisenkos are Rotarians). Yesterday Volodymyr and Tamara met the principal and vice-principal N.V. Ananieva.
At the end of March, the Association "Centre of creative initiatives "Kliever" and Gorlovka Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages held the All-Ukrainian Competition "Patriot". Its participants were offered numerous, complicated tasks in Ukrainian Studies. 62 Gymnasia students participated in the contest, and Cherkasy Oblast was represented by 661 students. Only 7 fellow students have become its winners, three of them are our students. Here are their names: Daryna Movchan, Anastasiya Mekheda, Titko Maryna and Natalia Mykhailyk.

The winners will receive Diplomas and gifts during the celebration of the Last Bell Ceremony, which will be held on May 28 in the "Peoples' Friendship" Palace of Culture.
Year 2010 issue # 2 of the All-Ukrainian magazine "Foreign languages in educational institutions" published a scientific article, written by N. Ananieva, a Vice-principal. The article is called "Cherishing the Man of Culture". It tells us about the experience of creating a model of polylingual school by way of the example of our educational institution. Soon, the article can be read on our website in the section "Pedagogical Postbox."
On April 30, Mrs. Zhanna Grytsenko, the Director of the "Education" Project of Peace Corps Ukraine, visited the Gymnasia. She treated with the Gymnasia principal and Ananieva N.V., a vice-principal, for the purpose of sending a volunteer from the distant America to work in our city next year.
The Gymnasia has already got an experience of collaboration with Peace Corps volunteers, so the project proposal was perceived positively.
