The printed newspaper “Gymnazist” is one of the oldest printed school publications in Cherkasy region (Certificate of Registration No. 93 of December 22, 1994). The first issue of the newspaper was published in 1994. In 2014, the newspaper celebrated its 20th anniversary.
The newspaper is published in 1000 copies in full-color A4 format. It has a presentation orientation.
The newspaper is distributed free of charge to all students and staff of the school. It can be ordered and received by mail by contacting the principal's office, tel. (0472) 33-71-21, orserte@i.ua
On April 15, 2010, on the initiative of gymnasium students, the newspaper launched a children's edition of the UNIQUE GIMNAZIST magazine. The first editor of the children's edition was Andriy Shendryk.
The editors were at different times Victoria Velychkina, Zlata Avdeenko, Valentyna Kravets, Anastasiya Kovalenko, Kateryna Duda, Tetiana Shvets, Svitlana Stryhun, Zoreslava Honchar.
The newspaper is published in Ukrainian and in the languages of the countries studied at the gymnasium. The UNIQUE GIMNAZIST was published as a supplement to the GIMNAZIST newspaper until the end of 2014.

The printed version of the newspaper is produced by the Vinnytsia-based PKL newspaper printing house; the electronic version is published by the website administration.

Hymnazist has received numerous awards and honors:
In 2011, at the 14th National School Newspaper Contest (Mykolaiv), the newspaper won the award in the category of COVERAGE OF INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION IN SCHOOL MEDIA. The newspaper was a winner in this competition in 2013 and 2014.
In April 2015, in Mykolaiv, our newspaper was recognized as the BEST NEWSPAPER BY CONTENT at the 18th International School Media Competition. In 2021, the newspaper took 2nd place at the school media competition in Mykolaiv.
Since January 2015, the name HIMNAZIST has been returned to the newspaper.
