The SMRT program is an innovative approach to learning English using ICT. It includes
- creativity in learning English;
- Increased interest in learning English through authentic learning material;
- individual access to learning material;
- the possibility of learning at an individual pace;
- use of auxiliary websites, online videos, audio recordings, interactive games, etc;
- doing homework at a convenient time;
- creation of own Power Point Presentations;
- increasing motivation for active learning;
- development of reflection and increase of the level of self-education efficiency;
- quality distance education.
Provides distance education Canadian College of English Language, Vancouver, Canada. This educational institution
- attracted 17289 international students to distance education;
- has agreements with 31 educational institutions in 7 countries;
- provided each user with a personal profile;
- updates information in the SMRT CAFE section on a daily basis;
- defined the levels of English language learning: SMRT 110, SMRT 115, SMRT 120, SMRT 125, SMRT 130; each level has 12 units; each unit includes grammar, reading, listening, speaking, vocabulary, and writing;
- promotes the improvement of students' language, speech, sociocultural and computer competencies;
- prepares and determines tests and exams;
- provides methodological support for distance learning;
- organizes trainings for teachers-instructors on distance education.
