By the decision of the Cherkasy Regional Council of 07.10.2016 No. 9-2/VII, the regional target program “Innovative Schools of Cherkasy Region” for the period up to 2020 was approved.

The goal of the program is to create conditions (organizational, scientific, methodological, personnel, material and technical) for the prospective development of innovative schools in Cherkasy region, optimize the process of introducing innovations into the educational process, taking into account current global trends, and improve the efficiency and quality of the regional education system.
To form the circle of participants in the target regional program “Innovative Schools of Cherkasy Region”, a competition was held among the region's educational institutions, in which our gymnasium also participated.
The organizing committee received 49 materials from all regions of the region.
From December 16 to 19, 2016, the jury members carefully studied the applications submitted by the schools and selected 29 schools to participate in the program. Among the participating schools is the First City Gymnasium.
